Blazing Chrome is a unique puzzle-adventure game based on Japanese fiction. It is the first release of a new science-fiction series by Nobuyuki Takahashi. You play the role of Shiori, a young Japanese girl who travels to explore the mysterious and magical world of Blazing Chrome. The story rapidly revolves around the exploration of magical kingdoms on three separate planes and the mysterious artifacts that control each plane.

There are four areas in the game and each has a series of temples that have guardians that attack you and the player cannot move until all guardians are killed or the game ends. When you enter a temple, you have to activate the panel in order to start the game. Once you do that you have control of the character and you are able to explore and attack enemies, as well as examine the screen for items and special powers. The game is played in the first-person view and much of the puzzle involves predicting where the next item or tile is going to be.
You will notice that this game plays just like a lot of other arcade games that you have seen over the years. There are flashing images and sounds and you are generally using the mouse to maneuver the characters. The only difference is that you will be using the keyboard instead of the mouse. This makes it slightly more challenging as you have to anticipate the actions of your characters without actually having to see what they are doing. Most people who try this game fall into the trap of trying to guess what is going on and lose a lot of their time trying to figure out what is going on.
The first temple you enter will have you protect the temple itself from waves of attackers. You will have to defend it by destroying anything that is sent your way. If you are successful you will be rewarded with a mini demon that will be able to follow you and attack you at any time. The mini demon, however, has only two hearts which means that it is very easy to defeat before he reaches the end of his journey.
After the first couple of temples, you will be tasked to go to the next temple where you will be required to solve another puzzle while preventing the same demon from entering again. In some versions of the game, there is a puzzle that requires you to place a certain number of items in a specific slot. If you place more than one item or if a slot is empty you will not be able to complete the game and it will end up as a failure. This often makes it quite difficult as many players do not want to finish a game that they started with a success rate of about 70%.
