Once the charter is priced you get up to 48 hours to lock your seats with a card hold. You’re never charged more than the hold.
The jet’s cost is split between everyone on board, so each seat sold lowers the price for all. If the flight doesn’t fill its minimum, the hold is released.
When the window closes with the minimum reached, the charter is booked and you pay your final share — usually less than the hold.
